Do you come out for emergencies in Dewsbury?
Yes. If you’ve lost power, a breaker won’t reset or something smells hot, ring us rather than filling in the form. Urgent faults are put ahead of booked work, and we’ll give you a time we can actually keep.
Which areas do you cover?
Dewsbury and the towns around it in North Kirklees, including Batley, Mirfield, Heckmondwike, Birstall, Liversedge, Gomersal and Cleckheaton, plus the villages in between. If you’re not sure, ring and ask.
I’m a landlord. How often do I need an EICR?
Private landlords in England need an Electrical Installation Condition Report at least every five years, and a copy has to go to tenants. We can test the property, explain anything that comes up and quote for any remedial work before it’s done.
My house is an old stone terrace. Is that a problem?
Not at all. Plenty of homes round Dewsbury are older terraces with wiring that has been added to over the years. We check what’s there first and tell you plainly whether it needs repairs, a new board or a rewire.
Why does my RCD keep tripping?
Usually it’s a single faulty appliance, damp getting into an outdoor fitting, or a cable that has been damaged. Unplug everything and try resetting it. If it still trips, we can trace the fault with the right test equipment.
Do I need a new fuse board?
Not always. If your board has old rewireable fuses, no RCD protection or a plastic casing under a staircase, an upgrade is worth considering. We’ll look at it and tell you honestly whether it needs doing.
Can you fit an EV charger if I park on the street?
You need off-street parking, such as a drive, for a home charger. If you have it, we’ll check your supply and fuse board first, then position the charger so the lead reaches your car comfortably.
What does a job cost?
It depends on the job, so we price it before we start. Tell us what you need on the form or over the phone and we’ll give you a clear quote, with no surprises added later.
Do you do commercial work?
Yes: shops, takeaways, offices and small industrial units. That covers lighting, extra circuits, emergency lighting, fault finding and testing, planned around your opening hours where we can.
What’s the quickest way to reach you?
Ring 01924 922803. The form works too and comes straight through to us, but for anything urgent the phone is quicker.
